Scandar and Snyk
Snyk is a hosted application-security platform. Scandar is a lockfile scanner that opens a pull request.
Information verified on 25 October 2026; plans change, check their site.
| Scandar | Snyk | Source | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Published price | Prices are whatever Polar is configured to sell on this server, shown on the pricing page. While payments are not set up, every feature is open and every limit is unlimited. The product has no per-developer price of its own. | The plans page lists Free at $0/month and Team at $25/month. Enterprise pricing is contact sales. | Snyk plans Verified on 25 October 2026 |
| Who Team is for | Aimed at solo developers and small teams who work in a JavaScript or TypeScript repo. | Team is described for development teams of up to 10 developers. | Snyk plans Verified on 25 October 2026 |
| What Free includes | Lockfiles checked on OSV.dev, then a fix pull request for the ecosystems this server can regenerate. | Free lists access to SCA, SAST, IaC, and container scanning, real-time code scanning, and integrations with an IDE, a CLI, and source code managers. | Snyk plans Verified on 25 October 2026 |
| Free test limits | A fresh public repository scan is limited per IP and by a global hourly cap. Signed-in limits come from the plan, or are unlimited while payments are off. | The plans-page FAQ states Free limits of 200 Open Source tests, 100 Code tests, 300 IaC tests, and 100 Container tests. | Snyk plans Verified on 25 October 2026 |
| What Team adds | There is no separate “Team” product in the code. Paid plans are Polar products an admin configures. | The page says Team adds increased test limits per product, a Jira integration, and next-business-day support. It does not publish the higher test numbers. | Snyk plans Verified on 25 October 2026 |
| How a developer is counted | Scandar does not bill per developer. | A contributing developer is someone who committed to a private repository monitored by Snyk in the last 90 days. Commits to public repositories are not counted. | Snyk plans Verified on 25 October 2026 |
| Enterprise | There is no credit meter in the product: usage is counted in scans and CI checks, with the limits of your plan. | Enterprise is buy credits, use them for any Snyk capability, and contact sales for the price. The FAQ says unused credits expire at the end of the order term, and usage past the prepaid pool is invoiced later. | Snyk plans Verified on 25 October 2026 |
| AI pentesting and coding-agent security | Not part of Scandar. | The FAQ says Snyk Evo capabilities such as AI pentesting or Coding Agent security are not on Free or Team. They require an Enterprise Platform Subscription. | Snyk plans Verified on 25 October 2026 |
Where Scandar fits
- A fix pull request lists each package, the version it moves from and to, whether the change is direct or an override, and the advisory ids. When an explanation is already cached, the pull request adds an “In plain words” section. Opening the page does not call the model.
- Priority uses whether the project imports the package, not only the severity on the advisory.
- One Node process you host. The scan reads the lockfile you already committed.
Where Snyk does more
- The Free plan lists SCA, SAST, IaC, and container scanning, plus IDE, CLI, and source-control integrations. Scandar does not scan your own code, infrastructure, or container images.
- Team adds a Jira integration and next-business-day support on top of Free. Scandar does not ship a Jira integration.
- Enterprise is a credit pool you spend across Snyk capabilities, including products that are not on Free or Team.
Which one to use
Choose Snyk if you want SAST, infrastructure-as-code, containers, or an IDE plugin from the same vendor, or a team plan with Jira and paid support.
Choose Scandar if you want a lockfile scan that opens a pull request you can review, with plain-language notes taken from the cached explanation of the advisory.
